Hm. Since neither the captives or Theo seem to be doing anything, let's watch Caelum.
___________
Caelum stalked her territory's border, nothing unusual, no wagon wheels or traces of invasion. This entire situation was beginning to grate on her sense of paranoia. Two drake---things. They weren't true drakes, and they were to clean cut and tall to have any traces of other blood in them. She would probably have to drug the both of them and haul them to one of the wise creatures they had. Not that Caelum really knew any near her, such a bother, at least the air drake would be light and she could make the poison drake walk. Though it meant leaving her territory without a master, not that she couldn't get one of her 'friends' to watch it, but it was still something uncomfortable. No matter, she could always rip the heart out of the person who dared take over the territory while she was gone. Caelum soon paused at the river that flowed by her territory. Such a lovely river, ever abundant with fish. She dropped her tail in the river. Sometimes she wished she was able to send illusion messages, but someone of her low fairy blood would never be able to manage it. Her tail some wrapped around and captured a sufficient amount of fish. Caelum lifted her tail, the octopus suckers keeping them tightly to her tail. Putting them off was more or less the hard part. Now, trotting home.
Hm, just work and contemplating, let's see about prodding Theo to move.
_______
Come now Theo, where will you go? Or are you just going to stay there?

"So...." Alyssa said, breaking the silence. "Why'd you think the person let you go and not me?" she asked, still quite baffled. She had never hurt anyone in her life on purpose, and only fought in self-defense.

Theo tried dragging himself towards the treehouse. He stopped in frustration to look at the shiny scales that covered him. 'Seriously, what happened to me?' he thought confused. He turned back to treehouse. He didn't feel like he was getting anywhere. But he pushed on.

Around the tree house, for those watching, a few lights flickering in the distance winked out of existence. Some time past by, a light breeze sweeping the meadow into a polite bow. A clicking sound broke through the silence, a gruff voice following it. "What is a merman doing so far from the sea?" The voice belonged to a grey colored fairy the height of a water bottle. Her eyes were a stark white and her wings were simply clear and devoid of any pigment. She wore what looked to be black leather armor, a small fencing sword firmly on her hip. Her arms were crossed, hovering in the air examining the merman thoroughly.
~ Well, the lady asked you a question Theo, to be dumbfounded by the existence of a fairy, or to answer? Ever with the questions these people.

He stared at her stunned for a second.
'Oh!' he thought. 'This must be a dream! Well it seems to make more since. Even if I can't quite remember when I went to sleep.'
"I think I'm lost," he said shortly. "I don't really know where am I."

The fairy quirked an eyebrow up in question, the pale white hair of the eyebrow looking odd against her grey skin. "A merman?" Her voice raised itself into a peculiar pitch of curiosity. "Lost?" Her face took on a pained look as her lungs choked out a hardy laugh. The fairy's eyes began to drift down before snapping back to Theo, her body tensed and shimmered for a moment as she stretched and pointed a hand to the merman. "Spell and Truth analysis." Her tone was oddly strong for one of her size. A spark shot from her pointed digit, Theo's own body glittering in response. The fairy frowned. "Hm... Truthful and clean." Her eyes seemed to blink out for a moment. "Odd, you've either been dealt head trauma, which..." She paused to take a quick zoom around Theo's head. "Isn't evident. You look to well fed to have starved the information out of you." The grey fairy landed, crossing her legs in thought. Her mind was too concentrated on the questions that arose from the merman, to even bother paying him attention. "You were probably not taught maps, if you went upstream and got lost... Your fumbling slithering on the ground instead of the actual river..." The fairy clicked her tongue thoughtfully. "Perhaps you were stolen... Do we even have thieves bold enough to steal around here? Even if we did they certainly wouldn't leave one of their captives on the fairy border. Perhaps a warning? A merman... A confused merman... A warning... Perhaps to our water fairies? Nah... To few and too powerful. Our clan isn't allied to any merfolk... We have truces, if we didn't the fish would deplete significantly... " The fairy growled in frustration, her hands making a jerky shooing motion, as though to chase away her thoughts. Her eyes flickered back to Theo. "Enough speculation." The grey fairy snapped her fingers with a flare of zest. "My name is Pendulum." Pendulum's body began to contort, quickly expanding her form and clothes so she might be larger than Theo. She flashed him a cheeky grin. "Welcome to the land of the Field Fairies. Your status is both captive and guest." She bent down to his level, lifting him from the dirt. "Relax," her wings fluttered for a moment as she took to the air, heading towards the tree-house-like building. "It is customary to return introductions here, lucky for you we sometimes entertain mer-folk here. We'll get you some salted water and request you an audience with the current Baron for guidance."

"Uh....Pendulum," was all he could manage feeling awkward as she carried him. He wasn't sure if he understood all of what she said. "My names Theo."
'Strangest dream ever,' he thought to himself. 'And so detailed.'
He watched the sparkling scales below him glisten.

The air filled with an odd echoed giggle. "Theo?" Pendulum grinned. "What an oddly simple name for a merman. I'm beginning to think you were adopted by a mixed couple." A few of the lights around the tree-house began to drift over as Pendulum and Theo neared. As they came closer, they all could eventually be recognized as fairies, all of various color and brightness. With this also came a flood of questions as the fairies crowded about Pendulum and Theo. "Is it safe? What has Pendulum got? A mermaid? No! That's a man, clearly. Hey! Welcome! Pendulum what on earth?" Pendulum largely ignored the fairies, since she was the size of an elf she didn't have to worry about getting through them, but she did decide to say something. "Guys, just go inform our Baron and ready the fish pit. Also salt water and fish, this guy is lost." "Lost? Alright! How can a merman get lost? Did you use a truth and magic spell? Of course she did you imbecile! She's a guard! Hey! Guards don't have the best of roles! Pendulum sighed, increasing her speed. As the tree-house-like structure drew near, one could plainly see it was more than just a tree-house. The building was like a huge wooden castle and town mixed together. Small glowing wooden houses were everywhere as well as little walkways. Until without warning, everything was average sized, the Fairy city itself was impressive, if not excessively dazzling in natural candle light. Pendulum began to growl softly. "Lad, you are a lot heavier now that your our size." She grumbled as she descended to the earth. "Man I hate that barrier." She continued as she laid Theo on the ground. She took a moment to stretch before continuing. "You merfolk, just big sacks of blubber. Eeeh, not as bad as centaurs though, large brutes even when shrunk." Pendulum motioned over to where the stream flowed through their city. "Just crawl over into the river, the merfolk quarters is the first building to the right. Since you are both a guest and a prisoner, all I can do is watch now that your in the city; protocol and whatnot." She explained with a wave of her hand, striding over to stand at a safe distance from Theo.

Leo was in awe as she carried him into the place. He was silent she had finished talking. He glanced at the river. "You expect me to get in there?" He asked staring at the water in dismay.
'I don't think I've ever swam even in my dreams,' he realized. 'Why is it coming up now?'

(Muhaha, wifi...)
Pendulum seemed a bit taken back at the question. "I, um, yes?" Pendulum tapped her fingers together in contemplation. "Wheatbush may not be the driest place, but you'll still get dried out if left out overnight, We're not going to have your death on our hands, and if your under the assumption you should get something nicer, you have given us no rank that should insinuate so."

"I don't swim. Never have and never will," Theo stated. Who cares if he was dreaming? Water wasn't his thing. He expected Pendulum to offer something else like how it always happens in a dream.

Pendulum's jaw gaped. "I... What?... Well that explains the crawling on the dirt and your face, but then again you should by all means be dead... Bahahahaha." For some unknown reason, Pendulum found herself laughing. "You don't have to swim! Just soak and let the water drag you for all I care."

She was laughing. At him? For not swimming? He wasn't sure why but it made him mad.
"Well you're rude," he said. It crossed his mind that that very sentence made him a hypocrite. "Why don't you just point me the way out of this dump! I don't care where I end up. It doesn't really matter. Ill be gone soon anyway."

Pendulum gave herself a moment to compose her lungs from her laughter. "Ah, ah, ah, you forget you're a captive as well as a guest." She grinned, her sharpened teeth giving the perfect shark grin. "I know I may seem a bit to carefree to reenforce the captive part, but insulting a fairy's work carelessly is quite an offense in most fairy communities. Didn't you learn anything?" Pendulum began to stride towards Theo, her hands folded carefully behind her back. "Don't care where you end up eh?" She stopped in front of Theo, leaning down into a crouch so they could be at the same level. "I proclaim complete authority over you as a guard of Wheatbush for insulting our city with your words and ignoring common courtesy. Since it doesn't matter,..." Pendulum's wings fluttered for a moment, a captivating shower of white glitter following in a delicate shimmer straight afterward. "HAVE A NICE SWIM!" she cackled as she gripped Theo's torso with practiced ease. She was surprisingly strong for one her size as she spun and tossed Theo into the river. Pendulum turned her attention to the building encasing the river mouth. "SHUT THE RIVER EXIT." She called, jumping into the air as she flew over to where she tossed the merboy.

Theo flailed against the water not realizing how easy his tail made it to stay afloat. When he realized she was near him, he reached up and grabbed her ankle and pulled.
